Henderson also recounts with humor, affection, and vivid detail her encounters with Senators John Heinz and Ted Kennedy, Isaac Stern, and Frank Lloyd Wright, among others.The book is rounded out with additional recipes from Chef Robert Sendall, who began producing special events at Fallingwater in the early 1990s, Jane Citron, with whom Sendall taught cooking classes, and Mary Ann Moreau, former chef of the Cafe at Fallingwater. For architecture buffs, Fallingwater needs no introduction. Once the most celebrated private home in the country (it is now entrusted to the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy), this 1935 Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece has been the subject of books, calendars, poems, and now a cookbook. For decades beginning in the '30s, Elsie Henderson cooked for the Kaufmanns, the original owners of this house, and their many weekend guests, including Senator Ted Kennedy and Wright himself. The Fallingwater Cookbook contains a generous selection of Henderson's recipes and stories, supplemented by additional offerings by other Fallingwater cooks.
