The all time best boom on gladiators is "the gladiators" by Fik Meijer. Mentions refferees. Classes pay. But is not available on the e readers. This book compared to that deserves 3 stars. Tisbook in general deseerve 4. Informative enough but as most historians do, too much can be focussed within the authors interest and not the subject as a whole. This you don't get too much of that but its definatly there. There's few books as good as this on gladiators. But only one is the best.
