The Golden Hour
"It was like any other morning. If there were something that was going to stick in my brain about this morning for years to come, it would be how ordinary it seemed. It was like any other school day. The science class like any other class, Mr Sullivan like any other science teacher. Nothing was different."
When a class of students are caught up in a biological terrorist attack, they've forced to restart their lives by the Witness Protection Agency. Their families are told that they've died, and the students have to deal with their new situation and the life or death stakes that are in play.
But Max is angry, and wants her old life back. She's willing to do anything for things to go back to how they used to be.
She soon discovers, however, than not everything is as it seems, and that she can't trust anyone, not even those who're meant to be protecting her...

It's dark fantasy meets young adult in a thought provoking and deeply cerebral way.
