The second novel in the Mortal Masquerade series.

Fully initiated into the reality of the Mortal Masquerade, Lexie and Chris begin working with an artist by the name of Wilco on a woodland playground full of automated people-eating plants and animals. Lexie and Maise take on the alter-egos of a pair of Victorian melodramatic heroines, another character releases their inner self and an encounter with a fledgling magic theatre leads to further revelations about the Masquerade and its custodians.
