The recipes in this book are very light and use alot of fresh veggies so you should be able to stay thin while still enjoying the finer foods like cheese plates, etc. (in moderation). It reads like a girlfriend to girlfriend book with stories of Haylie's life. There is a quality color picture of pretty much every recipe which is very helpful. This book is great for the working girl who doesn't have alot of time on her hands or the beginner chef. Her recipes do not require alot of skill in the kitchen so I would not purchase this book if you are looking for a cooking challenge or masterchef type cooking. Personally, as a single working 30 year old trying to eat healthy and not gain weight, this book was fun, exciting and perfect for me. I especially love the Kale recipes!
PLEASE tell me you'll write another book! I love this! It really is the Real Girl's kitchen. There's only one ingredient I'm not really sure what it its, but there aren't any difficult instructions. You can follow along easily, the pictures are gorgeous. It's just amazing and I can't stop raving about it. Especially for a beginner the instructions really make you feel like you could cook anything.
