Such a beautiful, clear, and well-written intro to astrology, and the illustrations are rich, beautiful, and inspired.

This was a very accessible book. I appreciated the modern graphics and the conversational tone of the author. The introduction was excellent, setting up astrology as another way to look at human nature and understand people’s motivations and their differences. Once the reader is encouraged to use an online source to download a personalized star chart, the list and descriptions of signs begins. The piece I liked best about this part was a story or personified-something that went with each, functioning as a mnemonic device. At the end is a section designed for bringing the diverse elements into one cogent whole. By the time I reached this point I was still not personally “sold” on astrology as a system, so the example had less punch than I needed to put it all together. Even so, if you’re looking for a guide that explains how astrology works, the reasoning and systems behind it, this seems like a slid introduction.
