The Value of a Woman
Miles away from home; Amitola has created a life for herself on the streets of Las Vegas. As a young Native American girl she grew up on a reservation and now realizes the past does affect the present and that fighting against her family's traditions make the struggle to care for herself and her son even harder. Working two jobs, one legal, one not, tension builds in Amitola's life as she's pulled between the two worlds. Working the streets, her life is threatened by the men she can't trust but who are the means to her survival. Unable to see any other way, she gets through each day opposing her aunt's help while still welcoming the support of best friend Allie, whose ambitions divert some of the pain and loneliness. Ultimately though, it is Nico who finds his way beneath her tough exterior. A rich entrepreneur from Greece who travels between his two homes, he can't stay away. By the time Amitola agrees to move into his house as a roommate and friend, they all find themselves on a journey that will bring them together in a way they never dreamed possible.
