This was a good short story. Only 29ish pgs. Ends in a cliffhanger so you have to get next book, which I didn't see available on nook. Overall a 3.5. More information about quotas and what the rulers were doing wrong would have helped and made me more curious.

Jonathan’s books always amaze and this one is no different! Thrive far surpassed any expectations I had when I started reading it. The characters are diverse, well-developed, and thoroughly enjoyable. The story itself is one of the extreme survival of the fittest concepts and takes the term phys ed to the a whole new level. Jonathan has crafted a Dystopian world that is both believable and engaging. It is a word where staying inside the city depends upon meeting your goals no matter where you work. If not, you get exiled outside the city walls, to a world where there is nothing, or so the citizens are led to believe. The truth in fact is that the citizens of the city have been lied to their entire lives, there is in fact more cities out there and those citizens that learn the truth are exiled. This is a story of deep mystery and for every question answered, more questions are uncovered. I cannot wait to see where Jonathan goes with this new series. It is as always amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Wow. I was barely able to put this book down for a second after the first few pages got me completely hooked. The narrative here has an immediacy to it that, when combined with the very dramatic life-or-death plot, is incredibly compelling. It's entertaining, and incredibly disturbing all at once. If this was merely a good read, I would have given it 4 stars, but they say great art leaves you changed after you experience it... and this book definitely did that. Reminiscent of the Hunger games in the dystopian concepts, it is very exciting. Jonathan Yanez has, with one amazing work, vaulted into my favorites. Adam Lewis
