Trey's Daddies
Introduction:
After suffering a minor concussion in the postseason games, Derek decides that it is time to end his career as a running back for the National Football League before his career ends his life. Derek and his best buddy, Sandy, a golden retriever, take a much deserved vacation to visit Derek’s parents at the old homestead in eastern Colorado. While there Derek meets a very intriguing young man named Craig. There seems to be a secret about Craig, though, that Derek’s parents do not want their son to know, but for some reason they do not want Derek to become involved with this young man who Derek cannot seem to resist.
Excerpt:
After a very long day’s drive, Derek yawned as he looked at his watch. “Just a couple more hours, Sandy boy, and you will meet your Grandma and Grandpa for the very first time.” “Rrruff,” Sandy said to his owner. When Derek saw the “Welcome to Colorado” sign, he knew that in just twenty minutes he would be home.
Derek’s father was outside working on his old truck when Derek pulled into the drive.
“Look at you and that fancy new truck,” his father said, jokingly. “And look at me with my old jalopy,” he added.
Derek knew that his dad was joking. Derek’s father was proud of all that his son had accomplished. Derek had done what his father had wanted to do. He had gone to college on a football scholarship and had been drafted into what his father considered to be the finest institution in the country, the National Football League. Derek hadn’t played for his father’s beloved Denver Broncos, but he had still played football.
“There’s my big football star,” he said, as Derek walked toward him, and he gave Derek a big welcome hug.
“Dad, this is my best bud, Sandy,” he said.
At the sound of his name, Sandy jumped out of the truck, almost knocking Derek’s dad to the ground.
****
When Craig came back downstairs without his shirt, Derek couldn’t help but stare. Football practice definitely agreed with Craig. His chest was gorgeous. Derek decided then and there that he was not going to let himself get out of shape just because he was no longer playing football. Craig walked over to Derek and leaned down to look at his son. Craig was wearing no cologne, but Derek found his natural scent somewhat arousing. Derek had never really believed the whole “chemistry” thing, but thought that he just might be wrong about that.
