Waterfall (Teardrop Trilogy Series #2) by Lauren Kate

From the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the Fallen series comes Waterfall, a novel about love, betrayal, and epic consequences—a world-altering tale told by a girl whose tears have the power to raise the lost continent of Atlantis.
Eureka’s tears have flooded the earth, and now Atlantis is rising. Eureka is the only one who can stop Atlantis’s evil king, Atlas, but first she must learn how to fight. With her friend Brooks now lost to her forever, Eureka travels across the ocean with Cat, her family, and the gorgeous and mysterious Ander.
Trying to make sense of the dark world her sorrow has created, Eureka discovers a soul-crushing secret. If she’s strong enough, she can use it to defeat Atlas—unless her broken heart is just what he needs to fuel his rising kingdom. . . .
In Waterfall, Eureka has the chance to save the world. But she’ll have to give up everything—even love.
Praise for Teardrop:

Did not expect the book to go this way. Its so much darker than the fallen series. I hope its more than a 3 book series. Move iover Luce and Daniel.

Gosh, I don’t know what to think after reading this. There were moments I liked and then there were moments I didn’t. Overall I think it was just okay. My feelings for Eureka was like a revolving door. At times I really liked her; like wanting to save Brooks & the selfless act at the end that needing to be done but then I didn’t like her; like her selfishness when it came to Brooks/Atlas, a total disregard for the people that love her, & the sudden violent and brutal nature (like where did that come from??). I like that this book had unexpected moments. Let’s just say that no adults are safe. I liked that people possessed quirks. That was interesting. Somewhat a cool idea. I like the twist with both, Ander’s and Eureka’s, family history. Also how much I end up liking Solon. I thought he was funny and truthful. I did like the take on the Atlantis mythology. Overall I liked the duology with a hint of dislike on some things. I actually liked the ending. I felt it was fitting and perfect.

Loved teardrop but was dissapointed with waterfall. It has a great plot but the writing is weak. The story builds well and thrn just ends without warning. I wanted to love this book.
