While on a routine patrol, Galactic Officer Bradley Brackett answers an emergency call from a free-floating prison facility orbiting the planet Narsalia. A dangerous prisoner has somehow hijacked a patrol fighter and escaped! Answering the plea for help, Brackett engages the escapee in a brief space battle, forcing the criminal to crash land on Narsalia--a primordial planet still in its stone age. Brackett pursues the escapee through unforgiving terrain, confronting the indiginious prehistoric beasts and Neanderthal aliens. To make matters worse, the magnetic clouds that cover the planet block all radio waves so that Brackett has no way to call for help while he remains...
