This is book 2, and follows on from book 1, "Sailing to New Zealand (in the Age of Wood and Rope)". Now John Cartelege is a married master mariner, and is in charge of the Intercolonial ketch "Bruno", 10 years have past and it's 1870.The book explains details of sailing the two masted ketch over a thousand miles from Tasmania in Australia, across the Tasman Sea to New Zealand ports with cargo.
