About the Author

Doranna's quirkiness of spirit has led to an eclectic publishing journey since that her first award-winning novel, spanning genres over 40 novels (and climbing) to include mystery, SF/F, action-romance, paranormal, franchise, and a slew of essays and short stories.

Beyond that, mostly she still prefers to hang around outside her New Mexico mountain home with the animals, riding dressage on her Lipizzan and training for performance sports with the dogs. She doesn't believe so much in mastering the beast within, but in channeling its power. For good or bad has yet to be decided...

Along with the occasional original, these PubIt editions are author presentations of favorites once found on bookstore shelves.

Something or someone is warping the magic of Camelon. Spots of wrongness splotch the landscape; as the distortions grow and spread, nothing is safe from the deadly consequences. With the Wizards Council destroyed, Arlen presumed dead, and the country in disarray, Jaime, Carey, Jess and the rest are left to pick up the pieces. The survival of Camelon rests on their ability to figure out a solution, but their actions may split Jess and Carey forever. The story hops between characters and locations fairly quickly, and the plot is not only a bit predictable, but the solution seems too easy once the underlying problem is solved. Most of the drama rests with Jess and Carey and Jess's continued struggle to understand human rationalizations. Still, this is a strong follow-up, and it will be interesting to see where Durgin takes Jess and her friends next.

Really -- a marvelous series.  I read these books in paperback (they are stored in my basement) and now have purchased them for Nook.  Durgin's characters are well-rounded and solid and her created world believable and consistent.  I recommend these book to anyone interested in a  well-written, enjoyable story.  In fact -- I've enjoyed ALL of her books!
