About the Author

Fred Staff is a retired history teacher who has devoted his writting to historical novels. He is a native of Oklahoma and totally taken by the many stories of the Indian Territory. He spends many hours in research and strives to make his stories educational as well as entertaining. He has been fortunate that his stories about "Bass Reeves Trilogy" will be the basis for the up coming Morgan Freeman HBO series and his "Sergeant Goldsby and the 10th Cavalry" is becoming a major movie. The Cherokee Bill story is the squeal to that book. His first book "Rocha's Treasure of Potosi" was a best seller. His success is based on the fact that his writings are fast pasted and exciting, while filled with history that few people know about. Staff's commitment to research causes him to spend nearly as much time researching as writing.
