Educated at Christ Church, Oxford, Henry Fynes Clinton (1781–1852) distinguished himself as a classical scholar following an unsuccessful parliamentary career. He first published Fasti Hellenici in 1824; reissued here is the 1827 second edition, which contained a number of additions and corrections.
