How Carnforth Steamed into the 20th Century

Nestling at the north-east end of Lancashire's Morecambe Bay, is the ancient town of Carnforth. Inhabited since Roman times, Carnforth grew from a small village into a 19th century railway town, the junction of three major lines. Following on from the first book, How Carnforth Grew, local historian, Marion Russell, takes us through the town's life during the first 15 years of the 20th Century, as seen through the eyes of her mother, Annie Barnham.
