Paranormal investigator Zak Bagans has traveled all over the world, seeking answers to life’s deepest and most terrifying mysteries. What happens when we die? Why do some spirits move on while others remain stuck in some sort of in-between place? What do the spirits really want from us? Zak has dedicated his life to finding out the truth.
He has bought a demon house in Indiana that has been described as a “portal to hell,” summoned the devil at the Hellfire Club in Ireland, and been attacked by a possessed doll in Mexico. But sometimes it’s his interactions with the living that rattle him the most, from innocent people harboring evil spirits to crazed fans to the victims of violent spirit attacks.
Through his investigations of the world’s most haunted places, Zak has learned far more about the living and the dead than anyone should. He’s been to the edge of death and back and come away with a spiritual key that unlocks doors to another world that few have ever seen.
Come along for the ride.

About the Author
Zak Bagans never believed in ghosts until he came face to face with one during a terrifying incident in a Michigan apartment. Not the passive type, Zak set out to learn more about the paranormal. In 2004 he produced an award-winning documentary film that changed his life and the lives of many others when he captured one of the most shocking pieces of paranormal evidence ever. Now the host of two top-rated paranormal television shows, Bagans has conducted hundreds of investigations into the unknown, becoming intimately familiar with the places ordinary people will not go. Kelly Crigger is not a paranormal investigator, but has been intrigued by the paranormal for many years and has conducted several investigations alongside Zak. He is the author of four books, including Dark World, and over two hundred internet and print articles. Crigger retired from the US Army in 2011 after 24 years in uniform.

I read the book because I'm fascinated with the paranormal. It interested me in some chapters but others fell flat because they were mostly Zak's self analysis. I have to say I was disappointed in some of his hypocritical statements. He definitely needs a better editor to catch contradictions. I think what disappointed me the most is how he doesn't want to be judged but calls out people like Thersa Caputo (The Long Island Medium) for being fraudulent as because of an unsuccessful cold read. He himself admitted that sometimes spirits are active and sometimes they aren't. The same people who call Theresa a fraud, call Zak a fraud for the same reasons. I found this to be the main point of hypocrisy. I like Zak and enjoyed Dark World but I felt Zak's narcissism, for lack of a better word, really come to the forefront here. Read it if your a fan and a fast reader but prepare to roll your eyes some.
After reading Zak's first book and loving it, I bought this one without even opening it or turning it over. Sad to say, I was highly disappointed. The first was much better and seemed more genuine. This is mostly him bragging. I had to drag myself through the better part of it and almost stopped reading it completely. It's not a terrible book, but it's no 'Dark World'.
Unless you are a teenage girl with a crush on Zak, stay far away. Poorly written, and it's mostly him bragging about himself, no real substance. Even worse, he mentions all the crew members in detail bit ignores Nick..who co founded the whole Ghost Adventures thing. Look elsewhere for paranormal entertainment
Well done and entertaining. If you liked Dark World, you will love I Am Haunted. Zak brings more of his experiences and insight.
This book was much more about Zac 's life and stories about his experiences off camera, I liked it much better than the first boo.
This book was completely amazing to read. I love reading about Zaks adventures and I love the show it's self. Best book i have ever read.
I just love how he expresses himself. And i love how he tells his audience/fans his experiences when he investigates. I just love zak overall.
I mean, it was okay. I never read his first book, but plan on doing so since many of you seem to think that the first was way better. I will say that it did seem as if Zak was a bit boasting about himself, but not in the sense of "in your face". I love Zak Bagans and all his work that he has done. His show is phenomenal; mind you though, this book is basically just journal entry of the past year in his life and give or take a couple reminiscing moments. In hindsight, would I have still bought this book? Simply put, no. BTW: I am 17, and no...I do not just watch and read what Zak creates because of his looks. I like what he believes in and how he demonstrates it. Watching Ghost Adventures oddly made me believe in something again.
This book was a waste of my time and money! Capital L!
Very good book, I like the way Zak opens up on so my levels about his personal life and his work with the paranormal.
I have been a GAC fan since day one, I read Zak's first book and just like that one, I Am Haunted doesn't disappoint!
I found this book really interesting. I have always liked looking into the paranormal world. Zak gives his experiences about the paranormal. I like how he tells you how it is. I love his show, but I didnt buy this book for that reason, but for a research paper on the study of parapsychology and he has pretty good information about paranormal activity. So I would highly recommend it if you are interested in learning more about Zak and the paranormal field. It is good to see from an investigators point of view.
If you're looking for a book that will teach you how to become a paranormal investigator, this isn't it. If you are looking for a book on the life of such an investigator, look no further. Quite different from 'Dark World', in 'I Am Haunted' Zak opens himself up in a gritty, honest and forward biography about what made him who he is today. Nothing is held back in this book, from the dangers and excitement of the investigations to the downsides of fame and fans. Zak brings you into his heart and soul, tells you the reasons he began doing what he does and how he has changed over the years and developed himself, his team, and the credibility of the Ghost Adventures crew. If you are a fan of the show, of Zak and his team and everything he does, this is a must read. As entertaining as it is eye opening, it’s a book that’s hard to put down.
I Am Haunted gives the reader a unique perspective of the ins and outs of paranormal investigating from a very personal and intriguing angle. Zak shares his fears, uncertainties, drawbacks of fame and experiences from a detailed and informative point of view. He gets much more personal and hands on in this book allowing the reader to step inside his world that varies between the physical, but mostly spiritual realms for him. Zak's offers us incite on how his gift of sensitivity allows him to connect with spirits on a personal and rare emotional level. Which is both fascinating and draining for him at times. Zak explains his experiences in such an intriguing and attention grabbing way I literally could not put this book down till I had completed it. Zak really came out of his shell in this book to share his advice and bring to the readers attention the dangers of being a paranormal investigator as well. His approach is scientific, technical, emotional and ground breaking. His is always willing to try new ways to contact spirits which gives him a huge range of options to find the answer to that all important question: What happens to us all after death? Zak also offers us an in depth look at his love for documentary filming, music, and various projects he works on to keep him busy because working is what he loves to do and his passion shows in all the effort and unique ways he approaches them to accomplish his goals. This book also allows the reader an emotional look at Zak's struggles as a result of his involvement in the paranormal from bad relationships to harmful effects on him, his family and friends. I believe Zak is on a spiritual quest to find the answers that we all seek about the afterlife and he is using his talent to help those affected by the paranormal in many ways, with his drive and determination I feel he will find the answers to questions even skeptics are afraid to ask. I recommend this book to everyone because I guarantee you won't be able to put it down once you pick it up. It was the most enthralling and intriguing book I have read in a long time. I Am Haunted captivated my interest the whole way through emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. IF YOU DON'T BELIEVE ME GET THE BOOK! It will make you a believer.
Well done!! I could not put this book down!! Some parts shall I say were very entertaining. Looking forward to your documentary in 2015.
Zak Bagans proves that paranormal investigating is not for the fainthearted. Raw and exciting. I have much respect for him and his crew. Chasing ghosts is as real as it gets. F* U skeptics :)
