I love my weres, and Smith’s werewolves always draw me in. She takes a well-known topic and makes it her own. By doing so, she produces a story that is well worth reading. Smith’s descriptions, as always, are crystal clear. Her writing is fluid and enticing. The storyline is well laid out and follows a specific path. The author does not jump from one subject or scene to another, but transitions smoothly so that her audience never feels lost. Smith gives this novel an extra element of completeness by switching perspectives between the two main characters. She also takes a novel approach to this. Rather than simply marking the change with a header, she actually changes the voice in which she writes. She flips from the 1st to the 3rd person depending on whose perspective we are seeing. She also alters her writing style minutely in order to give more impact to the changes. The characters in this novel are quite well developed. The characters that we’ve followed through the series continue to grow as individuals, making their way into adulthood. We also meet some new characters who are quite intriguing. Smith presents them well in her novel, never overshadowing the main characters, but still giving everyone the impact that they deserve. As a whole, this was a great sequel to the first Moon Glow novel. It gave some closure to certain issues that have plagued the characters from the beginning. Smith also brings new dilemmas and challenges to light that make you hope against hope. Please note that I received this novel free of charge from the author in exchange for an honest review
