About the Author

Ghayth Armanazi studied at the American University of Beirut (AUB), the University of Colorado in the US and at London's School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), before embarking on a career which would see him combine diplomatic postings (the Arab League and the UAE embassy in London) with outspoken writing on current affairs. Through the course of the 1990s he was Head of the London Mission of the League of Arab States and in 2006/7 he headed the Syrian Media Centre in London. Today, Ghayth continues to consult and write articles on the current situation in the Middle East for both the Arab and Western press and makes frequent appearances in the broadcast media.
