The Decline and Fall of the Shah is a history of the Iranian Revolution (1978 - 1979), and the collapse of the Pahlavi regime. It reveals why the Iranian military, which was one of the largest in the world, collapsed in slightly over one year. It also discusses the seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, the Iran-Iraq war, and Iranian terrorism from 1980 to the present.
