A new series about mind readers from a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author...

Everyone thinks I'm a genius.

Everyone is wrong.

Sure, I finished Harvard at eighteen and now make crazy money at a hedge fund. But that's not because I'm unusually smart or hard-working.

It's because I cheat.

You see, I have a unique ability. I can go outside time into my own personal version of reality--the place I call "the Quiet"--where I can explore my surroundings while the rest of the world stands still.

I thought I was the only one who could do this--until I met her.

My name is Darren, and this is how I learned that I'm a Reader.

This is my second book by Dima Zales and Anna Zaires and i must say that I am really impressed! The duo did a great job in writing this book and never failed to disappoint. The Thought Readers is a well written book about a guy named Darren with an unusual gift of stopping time around him by phasing into what he calls "the Quiet". One fateful night in the casino, he discovered that he was not the only one who possessed this gift but another mysterious girl who went by the name Mira. With the help of his hacker friend, Albert, Darren tracked her and found himself facing her brother Eugene, instead. Darren found out that he had another special ability and later discovered that there were two types of people like them who had this gift, the Reader, like him who could get inside someone's thoughts; and the Pusher, who could make someone do what they want. As the story progressed, i was hooked! If you are a fan of sci-fi novels then this is definitely a must-read!

Thin plot, but focused. The end left me unsatisfied. I did enjoy reading the story. The writing wasn't bad, though the text program could not handle a possessive " 's " to save it's electronic soul. Very distracting when the word is on one line, but the possessive " 's " is on the following line. ?

Thought Readers: Mind Dimension is another good read written by Dima Zales and Anna Zaires. Following the story of Darren, for the rest of the world a wunderkind but he has a big secret. Darren can stop time and explore the world around him, which gives him an upper hand. It was a pleasure enjoying this book and seeing how Darren uses his ability. I saw myself in him, in actions that I would also if I had such ability. Very well written book, material that keeps you reading on and diving deep into the world of Mind Dimension.

A young and very intelligent man looks for answers. He likes to have and use his special abilities, but something is missing, a good explanation, or, maybe, someone. The mysterious woman, She can do the same thing, so both are not crazy at all… There is a point of intersection between 2 books, so I recommend you read (listen) “The Time Stopper” to have a complete experience of it. I don’t know, something happened with me when listening to this book, the time changed, passed too much faster than usual, I guess I got really immersed in the story. The storyteller helps you to imagine all the book. I Recommend!

Having previously read "The Time Stopper" I already had some insight into the Mind Dimensions, but in this book the concepts are explained in detail. Here is Darren, a guy who makes a lot of money at a hedge fund. What no one knows is that he is cheating. And this kind of cheating is not possible to detect. The first part of the book brings us into Darren's mind - since his strange ability to freeze time is something he has never heard of before we find out that he is not completely sure that he is sane. He even has a therapist with whom he shares his experiences in this strange world he calls "the Quiet". This doesn't change the fact that he makes a lot of money, though. Everything changes when he incidentally meets another person who has the same ability, and who runs away when realising that he has it too. In his search for this person he finds out that this world he calls "the Quiet" is actually called Mind Dimension. He also gets a detailed explanations about what the Mind Dimension is and how it all works. This leads to the second part of the book, which is pure action. This part of the book I really enjoyed - with lots of chases and fights we find out how characters use the data from Mind Dimension in order to tweak things in the real world. As for why there are chases and fights, I won't spoil it for you - you will have to read for yourself. Then there is an unexpected ending. It is so well written that you immediately want to get your hands on the second book of the series and see what happens next. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone (especially to young adults) who is interested in a casual fantasy/science fiction.

A thrilling plot, strong characters, and immersive writing; definitely a must-read. I was gripped from the very first sentence, and wasn't let go until the very end. The cliffhanger has me itching to get the next installment. Definitely five stars!

"I find this audio book very engaging and it is easy to just listen in on the story and let the time fly past. The story is about a young man who have learned to stop time and use this ability to gain a great place in stock trade. As he learns of others with this gift, he takes it upon himself to find them and learn more about what it means to be able to do what he can do. Before he knows it he is in the middle of a conflict of "Readers" and Pushers" and with a light crush on the lovely mysterious Mira. The book is very well written and then narrated by Roberto Scarlato and it is very easy to see the different characters he depict with his voice before your inner eye so to speak. I gladly recommend listening to this artwork."

This book  follows a man, Darren, who throughout  his whole life  thought he was the only one who was  able to stop time and see what was going on around him and able to walk around while everyone else  was stopped, stuck in time. Until one day he sees someone else moving around with him while he has  stopped time.  If you have read  "The Mind Readers: Stopping Time" then you know something about the story. The  person he was moving around time with was Mira. Darren tracks down Mira and her brother Eugene  in an attempt to find out more about what was happening to him.  He learns that he is what they call  "a reader" . The other connection between them is that both of them had both parents murdered.  This story is full of mystery and intrigue. Stopping time, reading minds, splitting into other dimensions. There is a good storyline and the narrator is very good. He told the story very naturally and I liked his voice, perfect for telling the story. I am getting more and more interested in listening to the books of Dima Zales. He writes so you need to find out what happens next

Let me say this up front - No Spoilers I got this as an audiobook and intended to use it for my commute to work time. However, I started listening to it and didn't want to stop. It was a good thing I didn't have to go to work. I finished this book in one day. The Thought Readers is a fast paced, action-filled, Sci-Fi-Fantasy story by Dima Zales and Anna Zaires told in the first person by the protagonist. I can tell you they hit this one out of the park. The story has interesting storylines and is full of unexpected events that keep you riveted to your seat waiting for more. The protagonist of the story, Darren, has the ability to freeze time. He doesn't know how he does it or why. He calls this time stopping...the quiet. During this "quiet" he is totally unaffected. Everyone around him will be "frozen". By accident he meets someone, a girl, who can do the same thing he can...stop time. He now knows he is not alone. As a protagonist, Darren is a likeable person. The author did a wonderful job of fleshing out this character and making her readers care what happens to him. The narrator of the audiobook had a very nice voice and the inflections and accents he used only added to the appeal of this story. If you like modern Science Fiction, then this will be a book for you. This book is full of intriguing twists.

I enjoyed the story and felt the concept of “the quiet” was quite inventive. I found myself imagining how I myself might use such an ability. I especially liked the intrigue of “Mira,” and look forward to the second book. I do feel that while I believe the narrator did a fairly good job, sometimes his speech fell somewhat flat. He did a good job when changing characters with different voices, however, I think he struggled to bring the life to the story in a way that it deserves. Overall, it was an enjoyable book with a wonderful premise that ended too soon. DJ Cooper

From the very start, the story opens up many questions and leaves the listener engaged and wanting more. How many have this gift? How did he learn to control it? Are there any dangers involved? Soon the story takes on a swifter turn, and plunges the listener into a detailed, thrilling tale of adventure, uncertainty, danger and questioning.  At first, Darren leaves you a little uncertain of him. He is arrogant, confident and cocky -traits that I do not normally enjoy in a character. But his mastery of 'The Quiet' soon chases away any misconceptions I might have had about him.  It ended far too soon for my liking, so I shall be eagerly keeping an eye out for any new books by the author in this series!

Darren, a hotshot cocky hedge fund analysist found early in life that he has the power to freeze time, and go into what he calls "The Quiet". He can move around while everyone else remains frozen. What he does in "The Quiet" has no impact on the real world, but he can use this ability to snoop - reading private documents, see what cards his opponents are holding, but can't make use of electronics. Plus there's no restriction on how long he spends in this realm, once he comes back, it is as if no time has elapsed. He certainly has found this ability useful, such as at cheating at tests, and in his career as an investor on Wall Street. He finds out he is not alone though, he is not the only person with this ability... but even amongst the few who have the same abilities he has, he may be unique. This story has "everything" -- a protagonist who isn't afraid to tell you exactly how he feels about what's going on, both good guy and bad guy Russians, gangsters, an interesting take on a car chase, a scientist, trouble with one's parents, and drama at a casino. At times, the story feels like it is trying to be "too cool", but that's a minor quibble. The story moves along at a good pace, it's a good summertime read or listen on the commute to/from work or school and you want to find out what happens next and what's in store for Darren...

This tells the story of Darren, who uses his unique ability of being able to step outside the boundaries of time and explore his surroundings whilst the world stands still in order to cheat in life and re-invent himself as wealthy, intelligent playboy. Darren had never understood his skill or where it had come from and assumed that he was the only one who could bend time in this way, until the day he comes across Mira in one of his moments within what he likes to call “The Quiet”. This leads Darren on a dangerous adventure of self discovery in search for answers and understanding of his full capabilities as “A Reader”. This is an extremely captivating and exciting story. It is written very well and flows from beginning to end, making you want to read or listen on and not stop. I like the fact it is all narrated from Darren’s point of view, although sometimes it comes across a little monotone in the audio, it leads to an interesting and descriptive perspective. It is effective in immersing you in the storyline from the very beginning and captures the imagination. The characters are intriguing, engaging and believable and although it is a very simple story, it is a fantastic concept- it is fast paced and thrilling and I can definitely foresee this book becoming a film the future.

I was wary to read this book because it seemed like it was very science fiction based, something I usually don't pick to read first. However, I was very satisfied by this novel because of its phenomenal use of different ideas and putting it in a way that is interesting and kept me reading. The author provides a dimension to brain power with "The Quiet" and it is such a unique concept to present within the novel that I wish the book was that much longer. The book is fast paced, which I love because the action never ceases, but it ended so quickly, leaving me wanting  to get my hands on the next book. The book was well written, not having too much wordiness, while also not being on the opposite spectrum and not being informative enough. The author understood what was necessary to keep my attention and keep me wanting more even after finishing the novel.

The author has a unique and interesting take on mind reading and the use of mind dimensions. The author does a great job of allowing the reader to explore this phenomenon from the protagonist’s point of view while shaping the concept with opinions from supporting characters. I felt the book slowed down after the first few chapters but it was necessary for character development. It took a little while to see some real action but once the action started, I couldn’t stop listening. My only complaint was towards the narrator’s voice in the audio book. His voice was often too monotone which made the main character, Daren, seem rather bland. I’m sure if I read the book rather than listened to it, I wouldn’t have this criticism. Overall, I enjoyed the book and would recommend it. I give it 4 stars

The Thought Reader is an awesome, fast paced thriller of a book. The story focuses on Darren, who has the power to go into his own reality. He calls this "the Quiet". To anyone who has seen Accel World, it is of similar concept but done in a different way, and masterfully. When Darren finds Mira, with the same ability to go to The Quiet, his life is basically flipped upside down. What follows is essentially an action thriller with mind reading, plot twists, parent issues and Russians. Can't wait to get the next installment!

This was my first ever Audible book and wow! I loved it. It was a fast paced story and once I started listening I couldn't stop. My 8 hour day at work just flew by and I wish I had more of this authors books to listen to now but I will gladly wait for the 2nd book.  I found the description of what was happening good not over the top like some books can be and I found myself drifting away into the story. The narrators voice was good and all the slight changes he did for each of the characters was excellent.  The only bad thing is now I have to wait for the next book! If you love fast paced sci fi then I highly recommend this book to you.

I really enjoyed listening to The Thought Readers. I am an avid sci-fi reader, and this book had my attention from the beginning to the end. The narrator did a great job of distinguishing the different characters. The characters are all intriguing and interesting. Darren, the main character, has the ability to read minds Don't we all wish we had that ability? I only wish that this book was longer, because I loved it and would have liked more. I can't wait to read more by Zales. This book is definitely one that you need in your library!

The Thought Readers is a thought provoking book that wraps you in the story and won’t let go.   Darren is a young man who is thought to be a genius.  In reality, he can freeze time and move around in  “The Quiet” to see things around him that normal people cannot see. Imagine his surprise when he finds out  that he is not the only one.  Darren discovers that Mira can also enter “The Quiet” and the games begin.  Darren’s life is turned upside down and inside out.   Through this fast-paced book, you will enter the world of sci-fi as you never have before.  This concept is fresh, new and inspiring.   I really wish that I could enter “The Quiet”.  I can hardly wait for the next installment in this series.

I have read the story and I just loved it! The story-line is great and brings you to other dimensions of your thoughts. He has a great ability and i liked it when he met another person with the same abilities as his and his reaction was amusing. I really enjoyed reading this book, go and grab one in your cart. You won't regret it.
