If I had to sum up this book in two words they would be: Inspirational Memoir. This is such an amazing true story. After a horrific car accident Kelly found herself a quadriplegic. This was such a heartbreaking story, but at the same time it was a story that was full of inspiration. I honestly don’t know if I could have been strong enough to handle things the way she did. When I started reading this book I was so drawn into it that I couldn’t put it down I found myself going to bed at 3 or 4 in the morning . :) Even if you don’t normally read these types of books, I’m sure you’ll like it. This is a definite must read! I did receive this product discounted or free of charge in exchange for a review, however all opinions are 100% honest based on my own experience.

At age 19, we feel like we have the whole world ahead of us. We think about all of things we want to do with our lives and forget, that in an instant, everything can change. Our plans become distant memories and a new path forms before us. For Kelly, her world changed in ways that she never thought about. Her nightmare began just as her life was starting when a drunk driver hits her causing her to become paralyzed, her best friend to pass away and her brother to end up with severe brain damage. Rather than giving up on life, Kelly took her life event and turned it into something that we can all look at as courageous and inspiring. We can let a tragic event like this break us down, make us bitter and turn us into a helpless soul but Kelly took the situation and let God lead her into making lives better for others by living her life to the fullest. Personally, I believe that no matter what obstacles we face in life, if we have God, faith and willpower, we can accomplish anything! We may not be able to do things in the traditional sense; however, Kelly is proof that life is precious and it is 100% of what we make it. We can use our situations to bless or curse the world and I was in tears reading how much of a positive vibe Kelly put into the world. I will warn you that you'll need some tissues but it is a good book to help revive the soul! I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

Wow ... this story is so inspirational ... it goes from heartbreaking to hopeful to full of joy. When the story opens, we meet Kelly and her family as they are enjoying a wonderful vacation together before she goes away to college. Since it was their last night of vacation, the young adults plan a fun night in town, but sadly, a drunk driver collided into them. Their night of fun turned into a nightmare. The story takes us through everything that Kelly and her family endured, including her brother sustaining permanent brain damage from the same accident. It is told from Kelly's perspective and she describes everything that occurred in great detail. She has a very matter-of-fact style of communicating, and I think that makes everyone around her feel at ease. Instead of feeling sorry for herself, she helps others by speaking to groups about living with disabilities, as well as, speaking out against drunk driving. Her friendly, outgoing personality naturally draws people (friends, colleagues, her students, and her future husband) to her. She figures out ways to make the things she wants in life to happen ... she is a real go getter :) I hope everyone will read this book, you won't be sorry.

his book was AMAZING! I started this book thinking well this is just going to be an account of the accident and how she recovered, and it is, but it is SO much more! This book is about faith, trusting your-self, and finding love. I was a high school special education teacher so reading through Kelly’s story about going though this change in her body then coming to be a teacher just brings be such great JOY! I am so lucky that I was able to read this story and I would recommend it to ANYONE! What a wonderful story of survival and perseverance. Kelly you are a blessing to the kids you teach and you are a great advocate for drinking and driving! GO GET IT and YOUR TISSUES! AMAZING!
