This story like the first books of the sorcerers ring is very simple both in writing style and story telling. I would recommend it for very young adult readers if not for the more adult themes that show up once and a while. Time simply works however is most convenient to the hero's either in healing or travel. A solution to every problem simply falls from the sky whenever things get really serious. The villains are all simply evil to be evil with no thought of consequences. The hero's are simply downtrodden folk righteously fighting for freedom.

Some parts read a little funny but the emotional pull was there. I just bought the next book so clearly I am invested.
