About the Author

Laurie fell in love with animals at the age of seven, when she brought home a puppy from the house next door and persuaded her parents to adopt her. She did not have another dog for 25 years until her husband gave her a handsome chocolate Labrador retriever named Ganimedes, "Gunny" for short, as her wedding present. After meeting Gunny -- her soul mate and her great love --- nothing was every the same again.
Life with Gunny turned her idea of what animals were and were not capable of right on its head. He taught her about the astounding things that love can accomplish, and ultimately, led her back to who she was truly meant to be.
After graduating from Georgetown Uniersity Law School and earning her Masters in Foreign Service, Laurie practiced law internationally for almost twenty years while living all over the world.
In 2008, with Gunny's encouragement, she left the corporate legal world and opened a dog water therapy pool to help injured and old dogs improve their quality of life and renew their spirit. Because of Gunny's Rainbow, Laurie has helped hundreds of dogs over the years, and continues to operate the pool as well as write.

An Endless Love Story The Endless Path is a superbly written masterpiece that is so much more than a story. It is a journey of two amazing souls joined as one. Laurie, an articulate, well-educated human, and Ganimedes (Gunny), a handsome, strong-spirited canine, share the path that leads them through the joys and tribulations that life on earth brings into their life together. Reading this wonderful memoir, I felt honored to be welcomed into their world through both Gunny’s and Laurie’s words. “There are none so deaf as those who refuse to listen,” but they listened intently to every thought, emotion, and experience. They shared the innermost parts of their minds and hearts, and they teach us that we are better souls if we are willing to acknowledge that our animals have voices and if we are willing to listen more carefully and hear with belief, faith, and love. Communicating with each other is more than the spoken word, and Gunny shows us that our beautiful pups are capable of great teachings, insights, and feelings—again, if we are willing to open ourselves, accept the fact that our dogs have a great deal to say to us, and then listen hard. Powerful connections are possible, and Gunny and Laurie connected, intertwined as real soul mates that nothing, not even death, could truly separate. For me, my connection with my soul mate named Clarence is validated as I carry him with me every moment of every day. I highly recommend this extraordinary book to anyone who loves our precious animals who have so much to tell and share with us.

I loved this book. I have always thought about what dogs might be trying to say to us...how they feel about the things we do that make no real sense to them. This is a great uplifting read about what happens when a dog owner meets an animal communicator. It changed the way I communicate with my dogs and all the foster dogs that come to my house...Give it a try.

This touching and unpretentious memoir is so much more than a story about a relationship between a pet and his owner. How far does one go to assist and comfort one's soul mate? This lovingly crafted book answer's that question. It made me laugh and it made me cry. It is an utterly compelling read.

A beautiful love story that explores our relationships with the animals that are in our lives. I thoroughly enjoyed delving into the story. Just when I thought I knew where the author was taking me the story took a turn and captured my curiosity again. Well written, couldn't put it down.
