The Uncensored Truth about UFOs by Edward J. Ruppelt

This 531-page masterpiece was written by one of the first military researchers for "Project Blue Book," which tried to quell the mass hysteria sparked by a wave of UFO sightings in the 1950s.

Reppelt stepped over the line by plainly exposing the facts about this phenomena, which did not put him in favor with the status quo.

His work stands today and is as enlightening as his impeccable research and clear writing style.

Whether you are a novice UFO researcher or a seasoned investigator, this book is a must read.

About the Author

Edward J. Ruppelt (July 17, 1923 in Iowa – September 15, 1960) was a United States Air Force officer known for his work in Project Blue Book, the first public governmental study of unidentified flying objects. He is the one credited with coining the term "unidentified flying object", to replace the terms "flying saucer" and "flying disk", which had become widely known; Ruppelt considered those terms as sensational and inadequate.

Ruppelt was the director of Project Grudge from late 1951 until it became Project Blue Book in March 1952; he stayed on with Blue Book until late 1953.

UFO researcher Jerome Clark writes, "Most observers of Blue Book agree that the Ruppelt years comprised the project's golden age, when investigations were most capably directed and conducted. Ruppelt himself was open-minded about UFOs, and his investigators were not known, as Grudge's were, for coming up with mundane and often unsound explanations on cases.

Never read this UFO compendium before, but I should have. This is one of the most documented and thoroughly researched book I've had the pleasure to read! The author's credentials and his plain, no-frills presentation is both believable and readable. I recommend this very, very highly.

Regardless of his personal honesty, he reported to his bosses. They would have checked galley proofs prior to publication. A second edition was published, without the chapter saying it was alien technology. Does that mean this first edition was the total truth that was then suddenly discovered and suppressed? That is classic disinformation. QED...The real truth was suppressed? Please. These people won WWII, and they didn't and don't make mistakes. Gen. Patton was head of a nonexistant army prior to D-Day. ALL disinformation. Be smarter than the Germans. A nice study in technique. Buy both editions, they are out there. If you collect sci-fi.

This is a very basic introductory level book into the world of UFO's. It does paint a good picture of the origin of UFO investigations but is behind on the more modern aspects of UFO investigations. I would recommend this book for a novice with the expectation that they are laying a ground work for future/continued interest in UFO's.
